How do I make a one-click unsubscribe link in
Mailman?

Making an unsubscribe link for mailman is easy. You just have to:
  1. Login to your admin area
  2. Click "Non-digest options"
  3. Set personalize to yes or full personalization
  4. In the header or footer fields, you can now place user-specific links. While this does incur a system performance hit, especially for large lists, we believe it is worth doing to maximize your users' convenience. Plus, the link is a nifty way to fulfill part of our bulk mail policies

Here is an example header/footer:

_______________________________________________
%(real_name)s mailing list
%(real_name)s@%(host_name)s
%(web_page_url)slistinfo%(cgiext)s/%(_internal_name)s

Options and Unsubscribe:
%(user_optionsurl)s

Passwordless Options and Unsubscribe:
%(user_optionsurl)s?password=%(user_password)s

One-click Unsubscribe:
%(user_optionsurl)s?unsub=1&unsubconfirm=1

Passwordless One-click Unsubscribe:
%(user_optionsurl)s?password=%(user_password)s&unsub=1&unsubconfirm=1

You can use some or all of this in your header/footer. You can find additional information about the variables in the details link next to the personalization option.
